So... my name is Bernard but it's way too formal so please call me Bern or B.
I have over 22 years experience in tech writing and training, mainly within the government space - at both the federal and state levels. I have been doing project work (ERP, DRMS, TRIM and CRM implementations using SAAS, SAP and bespoke in-house systems), for the last ten years, again mainly in the government space. I spent ten years in Defence as a Governance Manager both at the regional and national level. I spent another ten years roughly at Centrelink in Policy Training and Business Support (internal help desk for systems and policy).
My last role was at Dept of Communities and Justice. I wore 5 different hats in a project team that rolled out different configurations of systems/counting rules for different programs. 12 different configs in all. I was BA/Tech Writer/Trainer/Help Desk for 4500 users across the state and the Project Coordinator.
I hold certification managing Complex Government Contracts (so anything over 1 million), am an ISO 9001 accredited auditor, and studied law to-name a few.
On a personal level, I live in Strathfield, have two cats, am single and volunteer at the RSPCA.
In terms of hardware, my preference is big screens, desktops, ergonomic keyboards (Microsoft 4000) and an old school mouse.
For my work I tend to use the Microsoft suite. Visio, Powerpoint, Word and MS Paint are my go to's.
Dream set up... something like this... I dont ask for much 😀
